| AO Hong Kong |
Partnering with the church in holistic
ministries and missions of winning
Asians for Christ.
|
 |
Background:
|
In the 1960s Hong Kong was streaming with refugees and migrants from Mainland China – over 1.5 million. Desperate for hope in life, the local churches couldn’t cope with the response to the Gospel. AO founder Paul Kauffman wrote the Living Word Bible Correspondence Courses to disciple these new believers. This was the inaugural project that launched the Asian Outreach movement.Today, the Bible courses are still used in Asia, Africa and Latin America, to bring in the harvest.
In 1997, the British handed Hong Kong back to China, after 100 years as a British Colony. Hong Kong, being a world-renowned international city with free trade and a well established legal system, is the window of China to the world.
Asian Outreach continues to reach out to migrants from the Mainland through activities at our Centres, while engaging the Christian community in missions in China and Asia. |
