Living Water

By Mike Robb, Asian Outreach Cambodia

Over the Easter weekend this year our team had the pleasure and privilege of traveling out to our project area for the baptisms of 24 believers. Many of these baptisms were new believers that have made decisions through our home group ministries.

It was particularly enjoyable to see the elderly men being baptized after a lifetime of allegiance to a mixture of Buddhism, animism and ancestor worship. The joy that was on their faces (as you can see) makes the difficulties and hardships of ministry here in Cambodia so worthwhile.

The medical aid and community development work that we are involved in is very valuable as a part of our wholistic ministry, and is often the first contact we have with people to begin to walk with them towards their own personal relationship with Christ.

But certainly, the ultimate reward is to see people, young and old, turning their lives over to Christ.

Baptism is a huge step of commitment for Cambodians to make, as it often causes divisions and concerns in families and villages. Questions will be raised about attending the Buddhist temples, continuing allegiance to spirits, and honoring the ancestors.

Thank you to all who have supported us in our work through prayer and donations.

This is one example of how your continued support has helped our team in Cambodia reach the lost. For more information, please visit our web site at www.aocam.org
