Behold I will do a new thing…
Is. 43:19

Our God is indeed a God of wonders. His Name is Wonderful! He will continue to fill us with His wonders. Yes His is again doing a new thing, and this time we turn our attention to China, the land of over 1.3 billion with such a huge harvest of souls. I was privileged to witness this new thing that God is doing just in November 2005. I was with a group of young Christian physicians and medical students from several different universities in major coastal city. They had come to this city from different parts of China to study medicine. Obviously we are talking about the cream of the crop in this new generation in China. They had come to the Lord in various different ways including but not limited to having believed in Jesus in their own provinces prior to coming to this city and those who had returned from overseas a new creature in Christ. These young brothers and sisters from different medical schools and colleges had come together for only about 2 months. They had a common goal and purpose in mind. They wanted to let others in their circle of friends and colleagues to come to Jesus as well! Not only that they wanted to utilize their medical skills as a tool to reach out to the poor, the sick and the underprivileged in the Name of Jesus. It was obvious that “the love of Christ constrained them”. In fact during the short time that I spent with them we had already seen the Lord causing them to bear fruit and see His harvest gathered into His storehouse. Praise His Name. How hungry are people’s hearts and souls for the good news of Jesus Christ. It was obvious that Jesus was revealing Himself to so many of these young people searching in their hearts. Their search for God and God’s search for them met together as they became His children with newness of Life. We saw the Holy Spirit reaching in to satisfy the hunger and thirst of many young hearts. This new form of small fellowships is not only limited to medical professionals in China. The Lord is actually doing the same thing among businesses and corporations in the business world all over China especially in the larger cities. I am convinced that the day of small beginnings will lead to large scale reaping of the vast harvest in China. Remember His Name is Wonderful. I am also convinced that at the rate the Lord is moving in China I would not be surprised for China to turn from a communist state into a Christian nation later on this century. The Lord has gripped the hearts of our brethren in this city. Jesus is pouring out His compassion in them. Yet they are still young in their faith and in their years. They need our continued intercession for the Lord to further equip and prepare them for the task assigned to them and also to build their unity and oneness. May the Holy Spirit be poured out upon them even more. I believe God will continue to do new things in China. The work among these young medical professionals is an example. It is such a joy for me to co-labour them to extend God’s kingdom. It is also exciting to be a part of what He is doing to transform and renew this vast nation! “If God is for us, who can be against us!”
