In remote Ping T’n Ziang, a village tucked away in the mountainous region of Guangxi, life can be as hard as the harshness of the cold biting winter wind that blows there. For though located in the same beautiful and scenic province as the famed mountains of Guilin, it however is not blessed with the same tourist dollars that pour into Guilin. Here the villagers are poor with many families surviving at subsistence level.

One particular family really touched our hearts. It comprises a blind elderly lady of approximately 80 years of age and her little niece of 11 years.
Their home is a tumble down wooden shack, with no electricity or fuel for light and cooking. The walls resembled a badly put together patchwork of uneven sized wooden planks. Holes are found intermittently scattered all over and one would suspect that the people who built this house had deliberately allowed it to be so, for want of a better lot of even sized planks. Thanks to the ingenuity of the elderly lady, or perhaps it was purely out of the necessity of survival, these holes are haphazardly patched with pieces of paper and mud, thus keeping to a certain extent, the cold biting winter wind at bay.
The whole house, which is essentially just one room and a kitchen cum living area cum everything else, is filled with the elderly lady’s old and broken worldly possessions. Herlittle niece, Sunshine who was left with her when her mother died and father ran away, has begun to adopt the squirrel habit of her aged aunt and become detached from people in the village and society as a whole. Until recently Sunshine had never attended school, but she is now beginning to learn basic words and numbers.

Their plight came to light only recently, when the elderly lady accepted Christ and help began to pour in from the Christian community there which numbers about 70.
ActionLove ( China) is looking for sponsors to help rebuild the house (USD1,850), so as to improve their living conditions. With your sponsorship, at long last, Sunshine can have a proper place to sit and do her school homework and the aged aunt can perhaps sleep a little better, not having to contend anymore with the harsh elements of nature.
