A Testimony from Indo-China

On a rainy day in 1995 a pastor gave money, and prayed for a lady begging on the street with her little girl. Two months later the pastor visited a family of new believers for a Bible study. When the pastor arrived, he met the beggar lady there! She was renting a room from the family, and had been invited to join the Bible study. As the pastor shared about God's creation and its beauty, this lady smiled—something she hadn’t done for a long time. She later committed her life to follow Jesus.

She had been through many difficulties in her life, particularly financially. In the past she had lent money to friends, however, when she was in need, they would not repay the loans but rather threatened to kill her. She moved cities to avoid these people.

About six months after accepting the Lord, one of the debtors came looking for her. She thought he was going to kill her, so she ran away. But, he chased after her, and caught her. Then she realized he wanted to return the money!

With these funds her life changed again. She bought a piece of land in the mountains for cultivation, and built a house for herself and her daughter. She has now started a church there, and her 16-year-old daughter is helping in the ministry. Recently her daughter attended a Great Commission Institute (GCI) training, to be further equipped for the ministry.
