Pang's Story

Our team at The Centre in Chiangmai continue to faithfully reach out to the Thai college students. Over the last year, we have seen many young people coming to Jesus as they see the practical love and power of God through the lives of the workers, teachers and volunteers. We received the following from our team just recently:

Pang started coming to The Centre in December 2006. Right from the start she got involved with most of our activities including Cooking Night, Friday Night Party as well as Bible Study occasionally. In a couple of months, her friendship with The Centre's team deepened, and she became more and more open to Christianity. But she did not make a decision to follow Christ.

Pang finished her university in February, and moved back to her home town. The team at The Centre continued to pray for her everyday. Pang's mother had cancer and was very sick. She could not even walk. Pang found it very difficult to cope with her mother's illness. She found herself thinking of all the things that she had heard about God from The Centre. Finally one day, she called The Centre and talked with the team leaders, Opal and Wor, and asked how she could become a Christian. At the end of the phone conversation, Pang accepted Jesus into her heart, and became a child of God. After that, Pang shared that she did not really know why she called The Centre instead of returning to her old life of consulting spirits. Our team was sure that it was because God's grace upon her in answer to their prayers, and that she has been captured by the love of God.

Pang's mother passed away last month. It was a blow to Pang but on the phone with Wor, Pang sounded as if she has accepted that. Please pray for Pang, this young babe in Christ, that her faith will grow and her knowledge of God's love will deepen. Pray also that she will be able to join a good local church that will help her to grow in her relationship with Jesus. Please pray too for the team at The Centre as they bring the Good News of hope to the future leaders of Thailand.
