Transforming impoverished areas across Asia into self-sustaining communities is the goal of the Community Development program. Local people groups are empowered as we provide them with the skills, training and support needed to effect long-term change. Asian Outreach raised RMB5Mn for China's 'Program of Happiness', which gives revolving loans to impoverished women to start their own businesses. To date, the loans have helped 154,000 families rise out of poverty and impacted over one million people in their communities.
